Coordinate the development and implementation of procedures governing the production functions. Works closely with the Corporate Health & Safety Manager to ensure safety regulations and procedures are in place according to Corporate Health & Safety Program. Position is also responsible for coordinating training of personnel regarding production processes and health & safety as well as conducting periodic audits to ensure location is in compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism
2. Project a positive image of AgReliant Genetics
3. Production Processes:
a. analyze work processes and propose procedures for compliance
b. implement best practices to best utilize the location resources
c. establish training programs with the Inventory Quality Manager and QMS Manager
d. ensure annual training is conducted and documented as required
e. participate in corporate training sessions as requested
f. maintain training records for location
g. conduct audits to ensure compliance: take samples, check records, and perform inspections
h. coordinate root cause analysis on all incidents
i. perform new employee orientation
j. aid Location Manager in bringing location into compliance for Quality Management System
4. Health & Safety:
a. schedule and conduct training as required
b. maintain training records as required by Corporate Health & Safety Program
c. maintain OSHA 300 Log and related documents
d. chair local safety committee
e. enforce and follow all safety rules
f. budget/purchase and maintain PPE needs and other safety equipment
5. Other duties as needed
Duties and responsibilities may be revised, as needed, by Leadership.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred; previous health & safety experience desired; excellent communication skills, team player; detail orientated; good computer skills – Microsoft Office; knowledge of seed industry and OSHA certifications preferred.
Ability to work required hours; ability to lift 50 lbs.; able to work in both plant and field; some overnight travel required; must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the Motor Vehicle Guidelines of the Company.
