The AgReliant Genetics Research organization is implementing a new strategic research plan that focuses on People, Process & Products.
AgReliant have an excellent opportunity for a talented, field-focused leader to become our Director of Breeding Operations. This individual will lead a team of AgReliant Genetics Operations Managers. This team is key to our research success. It has the primary responsibility to deliver all Research operational and field-focused processes and strategies. Broadly, this encompasses all yield testing and phenotyping processes, research seed production, site operations, and counter season strategies and coordination. This individual must possess exceptional drive, energy, and ability to champion the innovation and implementation of field processes that integrate cutting edge technologies. AgReliant is looking for an individual who is skilled, experienced and excited to drive process and people changes. Central to this role is championing a culture of people development that grows skills, experience, and ability within the team for larger roles in the Research organization.
o Lead & direct the AgReliant Genetics Breeding Operations team
o Innovate, implement and champion new processes that rapidly & efficiently deliver the research pipeline
o Develop and implement Benchmarking strategies to track improvement in the key deliverables
o Instill and grow a robust team focus among the Operations Managers and their teams.
o Identify & drive strategic opportunities that improve team efficiency and operational results
o Strong collaboration with Research LT peers and parent company research leaders
o Active participation in the Research Leadership team
o Champion the AgReliant Genetics Mission, Vision, Values in Breeding Operations and Research organizations
o Recruit new Operations Managers and develop existing team for ability to grow into larger roles
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
o M.S. & 10 years’ experience or B.S. & 15 years’ experience leading field-focused research programs
o Exceptional experience/skills in strategy development & implementation
o Excellent communication and influencing skills to win stakeholder support of Operational strategies
o Ability to influence key stakeholder at senior levels in parent companies
o Deep experience and comfort in driving significant organization and process change
o Strong working knowledge in emerging technologies which impact operational results
o Experience with data analysis and data software tools (Tableau, Spotfire)
o Extensive travel – regional and international
