The internship is for students focusing on Plant Breeding and Genetics or Plant Pathology. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with planting.
  • Flowering note taking.
  • Disease inoculations.
  • Pollinating the corn nursery.
  • Training will be provided as well as exposure to on-site molecular marker lab used in our research.  

Hours will be M-F 8:00am-5:00pm with some Saturday work during peak season (early July to early August). A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism are required.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience and training in many facets of crop research. All interns benefit from frequent discussions with research associates and the PhD lead. Special projects for credit may be possible following discussions with your advisor.
