AgReliant is seeking a plant breeding intern for a 3 month internship at its Champaign, IL corn breeding station. Students interested in an agricultural research career are encouraged to apply for this internship. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Agronomy, and Soil and Crop Science. Duration of the internship is from May to August 2018.

Duties and responsibilities include:
• Assist with planting
• Assist with stand counts
• Taking Plant Variety Protection notes in the nursery
• Assist with pollinations in the nursery
• Flowering notes on new hybrids
• Other duties as necessary

Hours will be at least Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm plus Saturdays during peak pollinating time. Limited overnight travel may be needed during planting season. A hard work ethic, attention to detail, ability to work independently and with a team, and professionalism are required.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience and training in a commercial breeding program. All interns benefit from frequent discussions with research associates and breeders.
